If you're anything like me (I feel sorry for you), free time is something of a luxury, and finding the time to prioritize my personal tasks when my professional ones usually come first can make things around the house a bit disorganized (understatement). So because to me, time is money, I find that it's a better investment to use my professional resources to compensate for what I lack in the personal resources, such as housecleaning, yardwork, cooking, laundry, etc. What I mean is that I pay for services, such as laundry services, home cleaning services, and someone to mow my lawn, so that I can use the extra time to earn more money, and buy myself that extra freedom to go golfing instead of cleaning my bathroom.
Now, I'm not rich (yet), but I understand the value of having to spend four hours cleaning my sinks, toilets, and bathtubs, versus working for two hours professionally so that I can pay someone else to do it right. Plus, the fact that I don't need to stock my cabinets with expensive cleaners, cloths, and other scrubbing equipment removes even more of the clutter for which my home was well-known.
It's embarrassing enough when I have friends over and they need to use the bathroom, because I can't clean worth a damn in the first place. But knowing that I've had my house professionally services by experienced home cleaners will give me one less thing to worry about when I'm entertaining guests (now if only I could afford the bartending service!). And you would be surprised to learn that most home cleaning services are affordable, even without considering how much time it would cost you to do the whole thing yourself. Plus the home cleaners are likely to clean those areas that you've overlooked, avoided, or had never even heard about.
Really, investing in home cleaning or yard maintenance or other home services is really an investment in your own free time. How much is it worth to you to be able to go golfing on Saturday instead of spending that time weeding the garden, folding towels, or waxing the kitchen floor? Really! |
